What is Lymphatic Drainage?
Lymphatic drainage is a gentle, restorative therapy that helps your body flush out metabolic waste, improve circulation, and enhance your natural detoxification pathways leaving you feeling clearer, healthier and more vibrant. If you would like to learn more about what the lymphatic system is and why it needs draining check out this blog post.
What does it help with?
As mentioned before a healthy lymphatic system is a key component to your overall health. Some of the benefits you will receive from a lymphatic drainage massage are:
-
Reducing swelling and retention (especially after surgical intervention)
-
Boosts energy and vitality
-
Supports immune function
-
Enhances detoxification pathways
-
Aids sleep and relaxation
-
Speeds up muscle recovery
-
Improves skin health and appearance
What To Expect
The therapeutic process involves a light touch over the affected area moving the lymph in the direction of the lymph nodes. Many clients find it very relaxing and typically fall asleep. Once the session is over and you are ready we will discuss the progress made and the possible next steps.
The amount to which you will need to disrobe will depend upon the area(s) that need to be treated. Direct skin contact is best for the treatment but if that is uncomfortable for you then loose comfortable clothing will work as an alternative so please dress accordingly.
Things to consider
Here are some signs and symptoms that may be signaling that your lymphatic system needs a little bit of help:
-
Headaches
-
Joint pain
-
Fatigue
-
Excess weight
-
Tissue swelling

Poor skin tone
I have been trained to work with athletes, post-surgical patients, some forms of swelling and for overall wellness. I am not qualified to work with lymphedema or other major lymphatic issues. In those cases I would need to refer you to other specialists. Please feel free to text or email to see if what I offer is right for you.
